INGREDIENTS –

Gram flour – 2 cup , Red chilli powder – half teaspoon , Coriander leaves [chopped ] -1 teaspoon , Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon ,Salt – as per taste ,Oil – for shallow fry .

RECIPE –

Take gram flour in a big bowl. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt in this. Add sufficient water and mix well. Consistency of this mixture should not be more thin or more thick. Add fresh coriander leaves in this and mix again.

Heat a nonstick tawa(pan). Apply oil evenly on it to make the tawa greasy. Now wipe the tawa with a clean cloth & put it on a medium flame. Pour 1 big spoon of batter and spread it evenly on the tawa. Now pour few drops of the oil at the corners of cheela. Cook the cheela till the upper layer of this  changes its color. Now flip it with the help of wooden spatula. Cook it till the other side also turns golden.

Now put the cheela on a plate. If the tawa becomes too hot, spread some water on it and clean with a cotton cloth. Now prepare all the cheelas in the same manner .Serve hot besan cheela with fresh curd or green coriander chutney .

NOTE –

1. You can add vegetables like grated carrot , cabbage ,and chopped spinach as your choice .

2. If you do not want to mix vegetables into batter, than make fry vegetables stuffing and fill it in the cheelas .

3. Spread the batter on the tawa when heated, otherwise it might be stick on the tawa(pan)                                                                                                                                                 4. Never cook cheela on a high flame .

    1. It’ll be better if you add tomatoes like Uttapam. If you add tomatoes in batter, you will face difficulty while spreading it. Have a nice day 🙂
